EOAR SEMINAR, APRIL 2024
HEALTH SKEPTICISM/ HEALTH ACTIVISM IN LONDON: A METHODOLOGICAL REVIEW
Dr Caitjan Gainty (King’s College London), Mr Paul Addae (Healthwatch Haringey)
In this talk, we describe a recently completed project focused on Health Activism in London’s Brixton neighbourhood, co-produced between the Healthy Scepticism project, located at King’s College, London, and a local community organisation. Though we undertook the project in order to understand the nature of health activism in a neighbourhood known for its vibrant and various ethnomedical traditions, we were also committed to investigating the possibilities of co-production – in particular between an academic institution and a community organisation – more largely. Here, we focus mostly on the lessons learned from doing co-production and talk through some of the successes as well as the tensions and difficulties that emerged.
When: Monday, 8th April 2024, 5:30-6:30 PM (ACST)
Where: Online. Please RSVP to openstemcells@adelaide.edu.au
