Towards a Stem Cell Commons: The Contours of Openness in Australian Stem Cell Research

On the 13th of April 2023, Dan presented at the PCST (Public Communication of Science and Technology) conference, held in Rotterdam. During his presentation, Dan shared findings from interviews with stem cell researchers and manufacturers as part of the EOAR project.

In particular, Dan focused on perceptions of openness with respect to sharing resources, data and information, trade-offs in relation to competition and commercialization, and gaps in the existing communication systems within research and beyond. Finally, different narratives around science for/in the public good were shared, along with implicit and latent insights about other possible ways of understanding this relationship.
