SCIENTIFIC EXPERTISE, COMMUNICATION AND TRUST (SECAT 2022)
Openness and the Public Good in Australian Stem Cell Research
Dr Dan Santos (Australian National University) and Ms Rebekah Harms (The University of Adelaide)
On the 27th of September 2022, Dan and Rebekah, together with the broader EOAR team, took part in the Scientific Expertise, Communication and Trust (SECAT) conference hosted by the (Mis)trust of Scientific Expertise research group at Aarhus University. During the presentation, Dan and Rebekah outlined the findings from our initial set of interviews with stem cell researchers as well as the results of a literature review on uses of the term public good in relation to science and research in Australia. The presentation formed part of a larger panel discussion on science, trust and the public good which was chaired by Professor Emeritus Hans Radder.
